ABOUT DISTRICT COURT
The Area in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining southern part of Sonebhadra district in the state of Uttar Pradesh is collectively known as Singrauli. Singrauli is emerging as India's energy capital with plants of NTPC Limited, Coal India Limited, Reliance Power Limited and others located here.
In the 1800s, there were three separate rulers of Singrauli ruling over three parts of the territory: the Chandela rulers from Bardi(Khatai); Rajasahab Madwas, a Baland Rajput who ruled mostly in the Majhauli block: and Rajasahab of Singrauli. During the pre-Independence era, its headquarter was at Singrauliya (Singrauli), Which was later transferred to Waidhan by the Rewa riyasat. Singrauli was also used for open jail purposes by the Rewa riyasat.
In 1937, a court building for the munsif and tahsil court was erected, With the formation of Vindhya Pradesh, it was included in the Sidhi division. Later on, along with Sidhi, it came under the civil district of Shahdol. Subsequently, by the year 1975, it came under the Sidhi district and on 15 August 2010 it was finally given independent identity as a Civil District.
